By 2020, the demand for radiologic technologists is projected to grow by 13% – 30,300 new hires – faster than the average for all other occupations.* In the fast-paced, in-demand world of medical imaging, technologists perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments.
Radiologic technologists enjoy helping others and paying close attention to detail in a variety of healthcare settings and specialized imaging centers. They are patient-focused, effective communicators, and play a vital role in the healthcare industry. They are also skilled technicians, who have a strong understanding of anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety and protection, and basic patient care.
