Dunwoody Electrical Construction Design & Management

Dunwoody’s Electrical Construction Design & Management program provides you with the skills and knowledge necessary to create estimates, develop schedules, and effectively manage complex electrical construction projects from start to finish.

Tour active construction sites and unique facilities, engage with industry leaders, and participate in national competitions—all of which will introduce you to a variety of uses and solutions for electrical design.

The program integrates all aspects of electrical drafting, designing, estimating, and managing. Presentations to industry experts and leaders help you to better learn industry standards and best practices from those in your field.

Software you will use includes a suite of programs you will find out in industry, including AutoCAD, Revit, Accubid Electrical, Visual 3D, and Navisworks. And extensive study of the National Electrical Code (NEC)—set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)—will guide you on how to design electrical systems that are safe, reliable, and code compliant.

An OSHA 10 Construction Card is offered to students who successfully complete the required 10 hours of training. This card is widely accepted by most electrical contractors in the US.

Because of the high demand for graduates in this field, most students interested in working in their field of study during college receive employment opportunities from electrical design firms or electrical contractors during their second year of the program.

This degree directly transfers into Dunwoody’s Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.
