Pathways to Careers Program (P2C)

The P2C Program is focused on preparing underserved and under-represented individuals for college success, immediate jobs, and great careers! Dunwoody works with community organizations and industry partners to identify and build relationships using mentors, hands-on activities, and academic support.

The program has two chapters:

  • Chapter 1: P2C – Youth (high school juniors and seniors)
  • Chapter 2: P2C – Adult (post-traditional adults)

P2C Program Eligibility

To be considered for Chapter One, P2C–Youth, you must:

  • Be a high school junior or senior
  • Be interested in a technical career
  • Be able to attend monthly meetings throughout he academic year, and attend a three-week summer
    experience
  • Meet income guidelines

To be considered for Chapter Two, P2C–Adult, you must:

  • Be a post-traditional adult referred to P2C through one of our partnering organizations

About the Scholarship Program

P2C for Youth Program Benefits

Here is a snapshot of what to expect as a P2C scholar:

  • Monthly meetings throughout the academic year and a three-week summer experience to stay connected as a group and participate in activities to spark your leadership development, degree goals, and college readiness
  • Meaningful connections with Dunwoody faculty and staff
  • Mentoring for your degree field of choice, or to help you determine your future goals
  • Opportunity to receive a scholarship (renewable for up to two years) to attend Dunwoody
  • Stipends for your time, commitment, and participation
  • Exposure to professionals and employers from several in-demand technical fields
  • 1:1 tailored college planning support to ensure your Dunwoody success
  • Culturally aware and diverse programming
  • FUN and encouraging ways to design your future and reach your goals!

P2C for Youth Application Process

Please complete and submit the following items by May 6, 2022, in order to be considered for the P2C scholarship:

  • Your high school transcript (a 2.5 GPA or higher is required)
  • P2C scholarship application, including essay (online application is just below)
  • Complete an interview with P2C staff.

ESSAY APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Along with your application, please upload a one-page typed essay that describes:

• Why you are interested in the Dunwoody program you have chosen

• Personal characteristics that will help you be successful at Dunwoody College

• What challenges you will face while you are a student and how you will meet those challenges

• How being a participant in the P2C program will support you educational and career goals

• How you will maintain at least 85% attendance at monthly engagement sessions

Prior to May 6, you should have also submitted your high school transcripts, submitted your Dunwoody application and completed your interview with P2C Staff.
